Architectural Lighting Design
Thoughtful residential lighting design tailored to the architecture, materials, artwork, daily activities, visual comfort, and how the home will be lived in.
Specification + Procurement
We evaluate, specify, and source architectural lighting products from trusted manufacturers, considering factors such as optics, glare control, mechanics, thermal design, serviceability, and manufacturer support. When appropriate, we can also supply architectural and decorative lighting directly, simplifying procurement while providing value to the project
Project-Specific Architectural Lighting
Our product development and manufacturing experience allows us to design and build architectural lighting products optimized for the project. We consider optical performance, glare control, thermal management, installation, serviceability, and integration with the architecture-not simply whether a product fits the space.
Lighting Controls
We can design lighting controls as an integral part of the lighting system, from simple local switching and dimming to room-based scenes and whole-home control. Depending on the project, we can design local, hybrid, or whole-home systems, or define the lighting zones and control intent for integration by a whole-home integrator.
We work primarily with Lutron controls, including dimmers, Caséta, and RadioRA, and can supply and program the hardware for the systems we provide. For larger whole-home platforms, such as HomeWorks, Crestron, or ELAN, we coordinate the lighting and control design with the project’s integration team.
Custom Decorative Lighting
When a project calls for something unique, we collaborate with clients and design teams to develop and manufacture custom decorative light fixtures specifically for the home.
Construction Support
Lighting design continues beyond the drawings. Throughout construction, we coordinate with the project team, answer questions, review evolving construction conditions, and resolve problems as the design becomes reality.
Focusing + Commissioning
When construction is complete, we return to aim and focus the lighting. This final step ensures that artwork, architectural features, surfaces, and spaces are illuminated as intended and the complete lighting system performs as it was designed.
