A project centered around the client’s desire to replace an existing ceiling suspension light fixture that had clear glass shades requiring frequent cleaning (central Oregon high desert tends to add a layer of dust to things) and had too much glare.
A custom light fixture solution was designed/fabricated with the main body comprised of laser cut steel panels arranged in a radiating pattern mounted to an aluminum frame system concealing sixteen LED lamps. The rustic aesthetic of the light fixture was informed by existing architectural elements within the space. The light fixture provides uplight on the cathedral ceiling and a soft glow between the steel panels.
The lamp type A15 were selected for the light source allowing replacement by the client and future-proofing the design considering the ubiquity of medium base lamps.
