The goal for this project was to use a clear glass rod to transmit light from a concealed light source to a table surface for general illumination while maintaining a reserved aesthetic with a bit of wonderment.
A quartz glass rod was selected for light transmission mitigating issues found with borosilicate glass tinging the light green or clear acrylic being possibly scratched or damaged during cleaning.
The bottom end of the light fixture is fitted with a clear acrylic element acting as a landing rim for a clear glass shroud. The light fixture top aluminum housing contains integrated LED light sources, collimating optic, and diffusion lens. Ceiling mount stem system uses a ball and socket design to allow the light fixture to self-straighten during installation.
